FAQ’s
You may be curious to know more about chiropractic treatment and how it will benefit you. Below are some of the top questions we receive from new patients.
WHY AM I IN SO MUCH PAIN?
Our chiropractic doctors are experts when it comes to diagnosis and treatment of injuries in the spine, joints, and extremities. We also address soft tissue injuries that are contributing to your discomfort. Chiropractic adjustments combined with other natural therapies, like massage, make your treatment more effective and your recovery smoother.
If your pain or condition is beyond the scope of what can be appropriately managed through chiropractic medicine, we will gladly refer you to a specialist that can address your injury or complaint.
Can You Help Me?
Millions of people worldwide suffer from injuries both acute and chronic that benefit from chiropractic treatments.
Studies have shown that chiropractic care is effective treatment for spine, neck, and back problems. It is also known to help with non-spinal conditions, such as sports injuries to the shoulders and knees.
How Long Will My Treatment Take?
At Milwaukie Auto Injury Chiropractic, we monitor your own biomarkers from your exam, such as tenderness, joint tests, nerve tests and x-rays. These biomarkers allow us to determine the severity of the injury, as well as track your healing progress. Your biomarkers decide the length of your treatment. Thus, treatment length will vary from person to person. We aim to help you reach your full, functional capacity through an individualized treatment plan.
If you are experiencing a new injury, you may require fewer visits compared to addressing a chronic or long-term injury. Typically, if your condition has been present for longer than three months, your pain and recovery may take longer to manage. No matter what your circumstances are, we create a treatment plan just for you that paves the path to the quickest recovery.
The best way to determine how long your recovery will take is to schedule a consultation and examination at our office. Don’t just wait for the problem to go away on its own. The longer you wait, the longer it may take to resolve your problem and return to a pain-free life.
HOW MUCH WILL MY TREATMENT COST?
The cost of your treatment depends on the length of your treatment, the number of visits, whether or not you have insurance, and other factors. We accept nearly all medical insurance plans, as well as all auto insurance plans for accident injuries.
Compared to other types of healthcare treatments, chiropractic care is highly cost effective. According to a 1993 Manga Report, “There would be highly significant cost savings if more management of low-back pain was transferred from physicians to chiropractors. Users of chiropractic care have substantially lower health care costs, especially inpatient costs, than those who use medical care only.”
Are Chiropractic Treatments Safe and Do They Hurt?
Generally, chiropractic medicine is painless. You may find that you actually look forward to your appointments because of the relief you feel after an adjustment or other treatment. Although you may experience minor discomfort, depending on the severity of your injury, this is likely due to pre-existing pain. Our care is always gentle, safe, and tailored to your comfort levels.
